For nonprofits

Bring us a problem. We build the tool.

How it works

One school year,start to handoff.

  1. Step 01

    Discover

Nonprofits reach out by email. We hold a scoping call to understand the problem, the people who will use the solution, and what the final handoff looks like for your organization.

    Your part

Email us about an opportunity and join a scoping call with us.

  2. Step 02

    Match

We assemble a team of a project lead, developers and designers around the project, chosen for the skills the build needs.

    Your part

Meet the team and set up recurring meetings throughout the year for updates and questions.

  3. Step 03

    Build

Over the academic year, the team of Purdue students designs and builds your solution, working closely with your organization through regular check-ins and feedback cycles.

    Your part

Join regular check-ins, try the work in progress, and tell the team what is and is not working.

  4. Step 04

    Deliver

At the end of the year, we deliver the completed product entirely free of charge, so your organization can continue making an impact.

    Your part

Receive the finished product, the code and the documentation your team needs to keep running it.

Scope

What we build, and what we don’t.

We build

  • Websites and web apps

From a new public site to an internal tool for staff: donor pages, volunteer sign-ups, dashboards, portals.

  • Mobile apps

Apps for the people you serve or the people who serve them.

  • Data and AI/ML tools

Reporting, data pipelines, search over your documents, and intelligent tools that take repetitive work off your plate.

  • Automation and integrations

Connecting the systems you already use so information stops being copied by hand.

We don’t

  • Hardware and on-site IT

We build software. We do not set up networks, devices or office equipment.

  • Deadlines before the spring

Projects run for the academic year, so something you need next month is not a fit.

  • Open-ended maintenance

We hand off a finished product with documentation. Long-term hosting and upkeep stay with your team.

  • Commercial products

Our work is for nonprofits and the communities they serve, not for resale.

  1. 01

We read all emails and will reply to get started.

  2. 02

If the project looks like a fit, we set up a call to understand the problem and who will use the solution.

  3. 03

Matched projects kick off in the fall with a team of Purdue students and run through the school year.
